Sue Ryder: Bigwigs Challenge: we’ve won!

written by on February 17th, 2012

Back in late September 2011 we attended the Sue Ryder Bigwigs Challenge Launch Night and decided it would be fun to enter this national competition that challenged the entrepreneurial drive of companies to invest a £50 start-up fund from which to generate as much money for Sue Ryder Hospices as possible over a fixed time.

We chose to do a London Tube Challenge which apart from raising an incredible £8,650 to help Sue Ryder provide end of life care and support to people living through terminal illness, gave the team at Purple Frog the opportunity to really work together, network with local businesses and enhance our creative, business and entrepreneurial skills.

The challenge ran from 1st October 2011 until the 1st February 2012 and last night we attended the final awards ceremony to celebrate the success of all the teams taking part as well as having the opportunity to profile our challenge to the other teams and local media.

We were absolutely delighted that our efforts along with all the other businesses taking part went towards raising in excess of £80,000 for Sue Ryder Hospices, and were thrilled that in the process Purple Frog won three awards. Not only the Local Entrepreneur Award and The Most Inspiring Team Award but also the National Entrepreneur Award as a result of raising the most money per individual team throughout the whole of the UK!

In addition Sue Ryder – Berks, Bucks & Oxon, of which our team was part, through our combined efforts incredibly raised a total of £22,450 and were also awarded first place nationally!

To all our sponsors, supporters and to everyone that gave a donation, we must sincerely say a big THANK YOU!
